Suky and I had the pleasure of meeting Jean for the first time today - a very nice man, a registered Nurse by profession. Mind you, we were a bit late, as he had booked into a hotel that we knew the location from the map, getting in to it... was something else entirely! We ended up having to go through the back door of the hotel next door, and walking around to find him, as entry to the main road is closed to traffic during the hours of 8.30am - 5.00pm (which I hadn't thought about,I'll admit) unless you can come in the back way...Mai Pen Rai.
Poor man had just woken up and jet lagged , however, he was thrilled to meet 'his boy' and wanted to do so much for him. Like the French chaps on Friday, we had to reign him in a bit, but he was very understanding and eager to do the right thing.
Lunch was KFC, which we were quite pleased about until we got it. It was so dry - maybe having been cooked and 'standing' for a while. Still, it WAS KFC, so Boonying was happy, and Jean got some extra for Black to take home with him to share with the family.
Afterwards we went into the store where Jean gave Black 'the run of the store', so to speak. Having learned he enjoyed sports and had a football strip but no ball or boots, he chose a ball to play foot salle - a new game to us, but it's become popular over here, apparently. You play in an indoor stadium, with a team of 6 and much smaller goalposts and net (almost like ice hockey) and the ball is heavier and so less bouncy. What can I say - we're just not with it! (Well, we are now...)
He wasn't lucky enough to find shoes there though, so those were bought from Naklua before
going home.
However, before that he was allowed to choose some underwear, 4 different outfits and some Ben Ten sandals - as you'll see from Suky's photographs.
