A new home for a slum family

Suky has been along to see Mai's new home.   It is quite close to the old place but the owner of the land, who doesn't come around very often, has permitted them to build close to his house, and keep an eye on it for him.

The place is just one room, with a kitchen and shower area off, and a tiny balcony in front.  The land here is higher, so there is less chance of flooding, and Dad (who was sleeping) is working (as before) sporadically.

Ronarong seems happy enough though, so the pressure they've all faced recently seems to have eased considerably. The money they were given by the owner of the land where they were living previously has enabled them to build a sturdy little place, and they've also utilised some of the materials from the old place

It will not matter how big your bank account was, the sort of house you lived in, or the kind of car you drove. But the world may be a little better because your help touched the life of one child.
