Just a quick update on the mum of this student.
Clearly she was delighted to receive the monthly food allowance, and Suky said that she is beginning to speak a little in answer to her questions after she has been virtually catatonic since witnessing her parents being shot 9 years ago Unfortunately, the home is looking even more dilapidated, with the wooden supports at the front looking even more rickety than when we first checked on the place.
They're in need of a number of things, as you can see, both in terms of actual repairs to the structure itself and individual items. The rice cooker is still in use, but is rusting, and one of the stay hot pots is looking decidedly suspect. I don't think I'd feel inclined to drink out of it. The mosquito nets need replacing and the fan was broken. There is little in the way of closets/cupboards for the clothes, or other furniture.
W do hope that when we've finished the other houses we have 'in hand', we will be able to do something here, too.

100 Years From Today
It will not matter how big your bank account was, the sort of house you lived in, or the kind of car you drove. But the world may be a little better because your help touched the life of one child.
