Suthisa's shack home

Today for the first time since taking Suthisa, a 10-11 year old girl on as a student (nobody can find her birth registration papers so we only have a rough idea of her true age) we were able to go inside of the tiny shack she shares with her parents.

8 years or so ago Suthisa's mother saw both her parents murdered and since then has been in a comatosed state until very recently when thanks to the regular visits of Suky she has been responding and now permits people into the shack if Suky is with them.

In the past we have helped with small cooking utensils, a rice cooker and a refrigerator but today's visit really showed us what appalling conditions the family live in.

The mattress on which Suthisa's sleeps is on the bare ground and is in urgent need of replacement which we have asked MERCY to do for us, we will also look at other items of bedding that may be needed. We meet the cost of a monthly food delivery (which we made today) and now we have been able to gain access to the shack will see where other improvements can be made although the shack is so small and dark there does not appear to be any room to make the living conditions more tolerable.
